Nach Ennyas Tod stand für uns sehr schnell fest, dass unser Damenduo wieder Verstärkung braucht. Nur eine Hündin wollten wir nicht mehr - ein Rüde sollte es sein. Aber welcher....
Schon seit vielen Jahren verfolge ich begeistert die Homepage von Mary Strom, ihr Buch habe ich natürlich im Regal stehen und virtuell kennen wir uns schon seit langem. Und irgendwo ganz hinten im Kopf gab es schon ewig die Idee, wenn ich je in die Situation kommen sollte, einen Hund aus einer fremden Linie zu kaufen, dann sollte es sein Snow Wind (oder Snow Wolf) sein.
Also war es nur ein kleiner Schritt, Mary zu fragen, ob sie sich eventuell vorstellen könnte, uns einen Rüden anzuvertrauen. Dass es dann so schnell gehen würde, hatten wir nicht zu hoffen gewagt, denn nicht allein, dass sie sofort ja sagte, nein, zwei Wochen später fiel ein Wurf nach ihrem Rüden Copper Top - Snow Winds Batteries Not Included - den ich ebenfalls schon seit Monaten bewundert hatte. Copper Top ist einer der jüngsten Parson Russell Terrier in den USA, die ihren Grand Champion errungen haben und ist, anders als viele Terrier sowohl hier als auch "drüben" ein Terrier des alten englischen Typs mit einem exzellenten Körperbau, grandiosen Bewegungen und zudem mit einem wunderbaren Wesen - für mich ein echter Traum von einem Hund.
Zu unserem großen Glück waren es dann drei Rüden und eine Hündin, die am 29.4. während der Hochzeit von William & Kate zur Welt kamen. Natürlich hießen die Jungs William, Harry und Charles und die kleine Hündin wurde Kate. Und nach 8 langen Wochen und unzähligen Mails, Chats und Fotos stand fest, dass Harrry zu uns kommen würde. Seit Wochen konnten wir nicht mehr schlafen, die Organisation des Transports hat uns alle zahllose graue Haare gekostet, aber nun hat das Warten ein Ende und er ist endlich da!
Nun ist er schon seit Juli bei uns und hat dafür gesorgt, dass unsere Welt wieder ein bißchen mehr in Ordnung ist.

I have been following the website of Mary Strom / Snow Wind Kennels for ages, of course I have read her book and I virtually got to know here a while ago. And somwhere in the back of my mind I had always been dreaming of a Snow Wind or a Snow Wolf dog, in case I should ever come into the situation of buying a dog from a different breeder.
Thus it was just a very small step to ask Mary whether she could imagine entrusting us with a puppy dog.But we did not dare to hope that everything would develop so quickly. Not only that her reply was yes - just two weeks after Ennya had gone, she had a litter sired by her dog Copper Top - SnowWinds Batteries Not Included -, whom I had been admiring for months. Copper Top is one of the youngest Parsons in the US ever to become Grand Champion. He is different from many other dogs in the US and over here as he very much resembles the old English Parson type, with an excellent structure, fantastic movement and a terrific charactr - a true dream of a dog to me.
We were very happy when Mary let us know that the litter born on 29th April - during the royal wedding of William and Kate - consisted of three males and one bitch. Of course the boys were called William, Harry and Charles while the little bitch was called Kate. And after 8 long weeks and countless mails, chats and pictures we decided that little Harry was supposed to be the one. We had not been able to sleep for weeks, the organisation of shipping has given me a lot of gray hair but now he is finally home with us and he has settled in perfectly fine - just as if he had never been anywhere else.
Now it's time for settling down and having fun - and our world is whole again. Welcome little Harry, a.k.a. Pelle!
And thank you so much, Mary - this little boy is a dream come true!
